Mine would be 1) Maryland Blue crabs 2)freshly picked sweet corn-my son-in-law had some great corn, even gave me enough corn to freeze 3)big juicy vine ripened tomatoes 4)fresh peaches 5)cantelope 6)watermelon. I am sure there are more!

Home grown tomatoes and homemade ice cream

Not at the same time, though

Down south we eat tomato sandwiches.  Two slices of white bread with a slathering of Blue Plate mayo, a thick slice or two, of juicy, red, vine ripened tomato, a dash of salt and pepper and you are good to go.  I usually don't eat white bread, but I will make an exception for this sandwich!

I also make a fool out of myself over fresh cherries from the northwest.  I particularly like Rainier cherries, the yellow ones with a red blush!

I enjoy tomatoe sandwiches too.  Have you ever had them on grilled cheese sandwiches?  I think my fav thing in the Summer are fresh picked peaches...the ones that drip down your wrists & you need lots of napkins smile.gif  just bought some at the flea market & am thinking about making a cobbler.
